Peter & Muthoni
There's no shortage of elegance in this wedding! From the stunning baby pink and grey colour combo to the breathtaking outfits the bridal party wore and the couple's heartwarming story. We love everything!!

Tell us your story? How and where did you meet?
Hahah believe it or not we met in the streets of Nairobi , Kimathi street to be precise , and I met Peter through a mutual friend who was my classmate then.

What do you love the most about each other?
I love Peter for being simple and such a gentleman.  He is a man of few words and he is gentle by character.
Jackie is not the ordinary person, she is very clear about what she wants, where she is going. She is also very strong.. I think she is the strongest person I have meet, she is assertive also and that makes me love her more. She has pushed me to greatness.

How did he propose?
This guy… a planned surprise trip to the coast with everything planned, the venue, the ring and hotel…I randomly wanted to go to Mombasa for my own personal reasons and I decided to ask him, turned out it was the perfect time and he willingly agreed. Something that I later on after the engagement started to put things together,. February 13th 2015 a day before Valentines Day... I feel nostalgic.

What songs did you and your bridal team walk down the aisle to?
I walked down to Selah, Bless the Broken Road because for sure every single road lead me straight to him and he is the one God kept for me…ever heard that history repeats itself? Well that is our story
Bridal team danced to Yemi Alade - Na Gode (Official Video) ft. Selebobo. God had answered our prayers and we wanted to say thank you. 7 years of dating was quite a long journey.

What was your wedding theme and what inspired your choice of colors, suppliers and style?
Our theme was Baby Pink and a touch of Grey…we love simplicity with class hence that was why we went for this two combination….a wise man once said love is grey another way of saying cool, neutral and balanced. The color gray is typically associated with meanings of formal, conservative, and sophisticated. The color gray is a timeless and practical color

Give a brief recount of the wedding day, from waking up till evening and the things that were going through your mind at the time.

Muthoni Wachira:  The one thing I had been waiting for was my wedding day I always told people that we would dance like nobody’s business true to it we did … I was a bit anxious about the day, especially walking down the aisle…leaving home was something that hit hard I had never lived home and I really wondered how that would be…. During the day I was humbled by God. People showed up in numbers not just numbers huge numbers. That was love… and I finally realized that this was the kept promise by God over my life. Marrying my best friend
Peter; the one thing I wanted was to take this girl home…. It was quite journey and finally….finally Jackie was mine. This trophy is my wife, my partner for life

Tell us your biggest cost saver and any cost saving tips you have for people planning their wedding.

We simply worked within our means and budget , we didn’t go overboard.
We would advice people to have realistic expectation for their wedding it is okay to spend but think ahead…a wedding is one day event. Invest wisely

What would you advice couples about hiring a wedding planner. What should they consider as they search for the right person to execute the dream for their wedding?
People are different there those who hire there those like us who didn’t and our reason is simple. We wanted to simply walk through the journey together. It’s an important journey for both of you.it grows you.
If you are to hire hire someone who is bought to your dream wedding and they can execute it well

Any other tips/lessons you would like to share with other brides and grooms planning for their wedding?
Invest in the right kind of bridal team, from your best couple to the bridesmaids and grooms men, do not just pick someone to be on your line up. It is history over mystery. Our lineup had our childhood friends friendships invested over 20 plus years and others had been cultivated through.. Plus choose those who choose you, people who would show up when you need them. It is another family. Choose well.

At Kenya Weddings we are always looking for something different unique and creative that a couple incorporates in their wedding. Please let us know what your something different was, what inspired you and how you got it done.
