Daniel & Margaret

There is nothing like a beach wedding. It spells fun, elegance and romance all rolled into one. And this wedding is a perfect combo of all this and more. Margaret and Daniel said I do at their gorgeous fuchsia and turquoise wedding and we are so glad to share their photos and all the stunning details from their wedding.

Tell us your story; how and where did you meet?
We met in May 2009 in my workplace. Margaret had come to do some banking and I noticed a pretty lady in the queue. I decided to hold on the client at my counter for some good amount of time to serve her. I didn’t want to make it clear that I was interested but I knew I would find her.
Coincidentally we met in church the following Sunday that’s when we exchanged contacts and here we are today.
How did he propose?
He asked me for a day out at Kilifi Bay Resort in North Coast. I couldn’t refuse since I love going out.
We had lunch and then later went to the beach where he proposed. It was fantastic!
Margaret: What qualities made you decide that Daniel was the man for you? He has a big heart.
Very loving, protective, responsible and very wise. He is my King!
For how long did you plan your wedding and what did you enjoy most about the planning process?
The planning process was one of its kind .We would spend a lot of the time together.
Planning, visiting service providers, discussing and brainstorming. It was a great opportunity for us to bond some more.
What was your wedding theme and what inspired your choice of colours, suppliers and style?
Fuchsia and aqua blue.
I just love fuchsia and decided to compliment it with aqua blue since our wedding venue was at a seafront. We decided and booked the service providers as early as six months before the wedding because we had done some good research on time.
Did our website help you in planning your website?
Yes it was of great help; we even got some of the service providers from your website.
Give a brief recount of the wedding day, from waking up till evening and the things that were going through your mind at the time?
I woke up at around 5:45am and the 1st thing I did was to call my fiancé to know if he was up and ok, excitos  .The day looked bright and promising. I was quite worried since the previous day was rainy but we thank God it was sunny all day.
Tell us your biggest cost saver and any cost saving tips you have for people planning their wedding.
The wedding service and reception were at the same venue hence saving us some money and time.
What songs were played as you and your bridal team walked down the aisle?
Groom: Only God can love you more
Bride: With this ring
Best men and ladies: Follow you
The Wedding planning process is a learning process for every couple. What was your biggest learning area and what advice do you have to others planning?
Make sure you get contract letters from your service providers and do sampling of their products some weeks before the wedding to avoid disappointment.
Also do some early preparations to avoid last minute rush and note that the wedding is for both of you, plan it together. Above all, Let God be the centre of the whole wedding.
At Kenya Weddings we are always looking for something different unique and creative that a couple incorporates in their wedding. Please let us know what your something different was, what inspired you and how you got it done.
We wanted a simple wedding so I decided to get a simple gown putting in mind coast is hot. I didn’t want something that would make me uncomfortable with the heat at the coast.
We also used the unity sand because of the wind from the sea. All these worked perfectly.
